The Metaphysics of Reasons
Resumé / Abstract
In this talk I examine two issues: what is the metaphysical nature of the reasons for which we act (often called our ‘motivating reasons’), and what is the metaphysical structure of a reason to act in a certain way (a good reason, that is, often called a normative reason as contrasted with a motivating reason).
